The Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation Board met Tuesday evening for its final meeting of the 2012 year. Board member Cara McClellan gave a report of the inaugural Wright Run 5K/10K that took place on October 6 in Trenton.

The fourth and final Mayor's Coffee of the year for Chillicothe is scheduled for Wednesday morning, December 5th, at the Elkhorn Restaurant in Chillicothe. The coffee is set to begin at 10 o'clock.

Hunters checked 15,136 deer during Missouri’s antlerless deer season November 21 through December 2. This year’s antler-less harvest increased by 697 deer, a gain of approximately five percent over last year.

North Central Missouri College Foundation will host an Estate Planning Seminar to be held Tuesday, December 11th in Cross Hall on the NCMC campus in Trenton. The seminar will be in Room 107 at 6:00 p.m.

Grand River Mutual Telephone has announced the latest round of community improvement grant recipients. The Friends of the Thompson House organization was allocated $250.00 towards renovations of the Thompson House, near Crowder State Park in western Grundy County. The Bethany Kiwanis Club was awarded $500.00. The money will be used to purchase clothing for needy children.

The Princeton Chamber of Commerce and Grundy Electric Cooperative are announcing the Christmas Lighting Contest for 2012. The contest is open to all Grundy Electric members in Mercer County.

The Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair Association, a non profit that supports and enhances educational activities for youth of Livingston County has received a donation of $5,000 from Chula Farmers’ Cooperative and CoBank as part of the bank’s “Sharing Success” program.

Trenton Police are looking for public assistance in determining WHO was driving what investigators believe to be a “high profile” vehicle that struck and damaged a parked car.

The Missouri Farm Bureau convention attracted some 1,500 delegates in their annual meeting held at Lake of the Ozarks. A series of contests were held at the convention on Sunday, with Brooke Novinger of Kirksville among the award winners, after winning the "talent contest".

The Highway Patrol says a pickup truck backing up from a parking space hit a pedestrian at a Casey's General Store in Brunswick on Saturday. Fifty-four year old Cynthia Smith of Boonville was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries.

A fund raiser is scheduled in December to help finance an upcoming project at the North 65 Center in Trenton. In observance of the Christmas season, the North 65 Center sponsors a project called “light a candle this holiday season".

A first aid program for pets will be held in Trenton December 1st. The first aid and C-P-R class will be held in the training room of the
Trenton Fire Department on Saturday from 2 o’clock until 4 o’clock.

A Powerball ticket sold in the northwest Missouri town of Dearborn matched all six Powerball numbers drawn to win half of Wednesday night's $587.5 million jackpot. At $293.7 million, this is the largest jackpot prize ever won in Missouri and the second-largest Powerball jackpot awarded nationwide.

The House of Prayer rescue mission in Chillicothe will host a program called "Celebrate Christmas" the afternoon of Sunday, December 9th at 3 o'clock. It will feature pianist Jamie Pauls and vocalist Mary Lou Vandeventer. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. The House of Prayer rescue mission is at 144 Herriford Street in Chillicothe.

Chillicothe High School student Madi Condron will be competing in a public speaking contest early in the month of December at a resort at Lake of the Ozarks. Miss Condron captured FIRST place in the Northwest District fall speech contest held earlier this month (November) in Cameron. She competed in the Farm Bureau's public speaking contest and has advanced to competition on Sunday, December 2nd at the annual meeting of the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation.

The Main Street Chillicothe organization is putting together an event this Wednesday evening in which young people can shop for Christmas gifts costing less than $15.00. All purchases will be gift-wrapped at no charge by representatives of Alpha Delta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The children also will be able to create Christmas cards to accompany the gifts.
