KTTN/KGOZ News : Daviess County Library receives $4,707 grant

Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has announced that the Daviess County Library in Gallatin has received a Website Makeover Grant worth $4,707. The library will use grant money to completely overhaul its website, including the addition of a mobile site, to improve presence on the Web.

Automobile Accidents : Highway 36 collision injures eastern Kansas man

A man from Shawnee, Kansas was injured in Caldwell County when the westbound SUV he was driving was hit in the rear on Highway 36, crossed the median and the eastbound lanes, and overturned. Fifty-three year old Mark Specklin was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.

KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Gooseberry Festival hosts 5k and 10k events on Saturday

There were 144 participants in the Gooseberry Festival's Five and Ten Kilometer run and walk on Saturday morning in Trenton. Roberto Garcia of Trenton was the overall winner in the 10K run with a time of 37:51. He competed in the men's ages 20 to 25 division.

An engineering, design, and planning firm is recommending the fairgrounds grandstand in Trenton be closed to the public because of a number of safety concerns. The report from Olsson Associates of Kansas City says the structure should be closed until the conditions are corrected and the structure meets required standards.

Road Work Ahead : Highway 46 in Harrison County to close June 25th

The Missouri Department of Transportation says Highway 46 in northwestern Harrison County will be closed near Route YY for a bridge replacement. The bridge is over the West Fork of Big Creek. The closure, beginning on Monday, June 25th, will last six to eight weeks.

Automobile Accidents : Utica man injured after being run over by his van

A resident of Utica was injured on Thursday afternoon when, the Highway Patrol said, he stopped to get out of his van without placing it in park, and the vehicle rolled backwards, knocking him to the ground and rolling over him. This incident occurred two miles southwest of Utica.
