A Brunswick man was injured when the dump truck he was driving went off Chariton County Route F and overturned. Fifty-year old Kenneth Sharp was taken by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield with what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries.

A Breckenridge man was hurt late Tuesday morning, when according to the Highway Patrol, the van he was driving skidded into the side of a tractor-trailer unit west of Chillicothe. The Patrol said the right rear duals of the truck ran over the engine compartment of the van. The driver of the van, 22-year old Daniel Bowen, was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, with injuries described as MODERATE.

The Highway Patrol reports that the contents in the bed of a pickup truck ignited, causing injuries on Thursday afternoon for two Galt residents. Fifty-seven year old Barbara Mann and her passenger, 49-year old Kenneth Pate, received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.

Two people were hurt when a car went off a road in Chariton County, hit a bridge rail, and came to rest in a creek bed. A passenger, 22-year old Tiffany Samm of Mendon, was taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center with MODERATE injuries. The Patrol said the driver, 24-year old David Weil of Brunswick, was to seek treatment on his own for minor injuries.

The accidents involved a large truck colliding with a train near Chillicothe AND a large truck overturned in western Adair County. Both accidents resulted in the truck drivers taken to hospitals.

A Brookfield resident was injured on Saturday night when the car he was driving went off a road north of Sumner, hit a culvert, and overturned. Twenty-one year old Nathan Bennett was taken by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, with injuries called minor by the Highway Patrol.

Two people were hurt on Thursday morning, October 11th, just east of Green Castle, when a car went off Highway 6 and into a ditch. The Highway Patrol said a passenger, 71-year old Shirley Speiser of Green Castle, was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, with injuries described as MODERATE.

Two Illinois residents were hurt near Cameron when a southbound car went into the median of Interstate 35, crossed both northbound lanes, went off the east side of the interstate, hit an embankment, and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

A Keokuk, Iowa woman suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle accident Friday near Princeton.

A Unionville resident was hurt when two trucks sideswiped at the crest of a hill in southeastern Putnam County on Wednesday, October 10th.

Two Princeton teenagers were injured on Tuesday morning when a car overturned east of Mill Grove. The driver, 16-year old Makayla Contrerez, and a passenger, 13-year old Kylie Contrerez, were taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton with what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries.

An Eagleville resident was injured on Tuesday evening when the car she was driving hit a deer on Interstate 35 south of Eagleville. Seventy-three year old Pauline Fish was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.

Two people were hurt near Chillicothe when a car hit the rear of a sport utility vehicle which had stopped to make a left turn. The driver of the SUV, 41-year old Spencer Sutton of Chillicothe, was taken to Hedrick Medical Center with what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol reports that two people were injured on Saturday afternoon, when the driver of a car attempted to pass another automobile that was attempting a left turn. This incident happened on U.S. Highway 65 west of Chula.

A Gilman City resident, 70-year old James Wilson, received what the Highway Patrol called minor injuries in an accident on Monday morning in Bethany. The collision, on U.S. Highway 136, involved a South Harrison School District bus and a tractor-trailer. Wilson was taken by private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.

A Lawson resident was hurt when the car she was driving went off Highway 69 and hit a utility pole south of Cameron. Forty-six year old April White of Lawson was taken to Liberty Hospital with what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries.

A teenager girl from Mount Ayr, Iowa sustained minor injuries when her SUV drove off Worth County Route C and hit an embankment on Thursday afternoon (October 11th).

A car ran off a road in northeastern Chariton County on Saturday night, resulting in injuries for a young Higbee woman. Twenty-two year old Courtney Hayes was taken by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol.

An accident that occurred on Monday night, October 8th injured two members of a Gallatin family. The Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred on Highway 6 at Altamont, when a vehicle had 'mechanical malfunctions' that caused it to run off the north side of the road and struck the deck of a house.

A Highway Patrol trooper's car struck a deer on Tuesday morning (October 9th) in eastern Sullivan County. The driver, 44-year old corporal Reid Fessler of Macon, escaped injury.
