WORTH COUNTY, MO. -- The South Shelby R-IV School Board is going to withdraw its job offer to a superintendent candidate amid allegations that he stole money from his previous school district.

The agenda for Thursday night's emergency school board meeting said the district will rescind its offer to Michael âMikeâ Rennells, 34, of Grant City, Missouri.

A bill given final approval Tuesday would tighten the margin of defeat necessary to trigger a recount in Missouri elections. Under current law, a candidate who loses by less than 1 percent can seek a recount. The legislation would require a margin of less than one-half of a percent to request a recount.
