Mercer won the girl's game by a score of 10-2, only to see Winston's boys move to 10-0 with a 15-1 win over the Cardinals. Winston will play North Harrison in doubleheader action on Tuesday night. Elsewhere in the HDC Conference, Gilman City's girls rolled to a win over Tri-County, 14-0.

The Winston boys won the recent HDC fast-pitch softball tournament. The Redbird boys used good pitching and timely hitting in their 3 game run.
Winston opened the tournament with a 17-1 win over East Harrison (Ridgeway/Cainsville).

This brought the Redbirds into a rematch with Grunty County. One week earlier the Redbirds had a come from behind, extra inning game with the Panthers.

This one held true to its billing as well. In 8 innings, Winston won 13-12.

The championship featured the #3 seeded Redbirds playing the top seed, North Harrison Shamrocks. The Redbirds jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, finishing the game with a 13-1 victory.
