The Grundy County Health Department is teaming up with the Nursing Program at North Central Missouri College and Wright Memorial Hospital to administer the vaccine.

The route will be the same as last year’s drive-thru clinic. Participants will begin on Princeton Road at 24th Street, proceeding south to the stop at 17th and Princeton Road. Participants will turn left on 17th and go to the paperwork check station at the First Christian Church. Participants will exit the church on 18th Street and enter the Emergency Services Complex from the North. There will be volunteers stationed along the route to direct cars.

The best access to the flu-shot line on Princeton road will be via Oklahoma Avenue at the fourway stop. The northbound lane of Princeton Road will remain open, as will both lanes of 17th Street.

Documents for the Grundy County drive-thru flu clinic have been posted to the Grundy County
Health Department website. The web address is www.grundycohealthdept.org.

“Although, it is not required that people download and fill out documents prior to the clinic, we have offered this for the past three years and it has improved the efficiency of the clinic and reduced wait times for everyone,” said Elizabeth Gibson from the Grundy County Health
Department. “If you don’t have access to a computer, packets are also available at the Grundy County Health Department office prior to October 1.”

The clinic is open to all Grundy County residents. The health department would like to remind participants “please don’t come early,” the clinic will not begin until 9:00 am.

Individuals are asked to bring their Medicare or Medicaid card for billing purposes and to wear
something with short sleeves so nursing staff can get to their arm easily for the flu shot.
Donations will be accepted from individuals that are not covered by Medicare or Medicaid. The
health department cost for the vaccine is $11.

Maps will be distributed county-wide in the Green Hills Weekly Shopper on September 25. Residents are asked to follow the route shown on the map.

Additional volunteers are needed for this year’s clinic; if you’d like to volunteer or need more
information about the event, please call Abby Oberman (660) 359 -4196.
