The Lady Wildcats opened play dueling against a much bigger school, in the Kirksville Lady Tigers. Kirksville got the better of Milan, 5-1. Coach Nate Dodson said, "We played a great game and definitely played to the level of our tough competition".

Milan then lost to Clark County 11-4. Coach Dodson indicated that the Lady 'Cats "had an inning with a few errors that we couldn't get out of". In game #3, against North Harrison, Milan gave up two unearned runs and lost a tight battle, 4-3. Likewise, against Chillicothe, Milan played a close battle with the Lady Hornets and came up on the wrong end of a 3-2 score.

Coach Dodson, following the day, told KTTN that "despite the losses I felt like we did a lot of nice things and played very well against some very nice programs, and we can build a lot of confidence based on how well we played a powerhouse like Kirksville! I believe that we are a young team, growing up very quickly!".

Milan will look to break its losing streak on Thursday, traveling to Edina to take on the Knox County Eagles in the Tri-Rivers Conference opener for the Lady 'Cats. First pitch is at 5:00 PM.

The Chillicothe softball team, on Saturday, won two games and lost two at Putnam County's tournament. Putnam County got the better of the Lady Hornets in the opener, 14-6. Monroe City then beat Chillicothe by a final of 6-5. The Lady Hornets would find success in its final two games, slipping by South Harrison 4-2, and then Milan, in the aforementioned 3-2 final. Samantha Baldwin paced the Lady Hornets offense with eight base hits over the four games combined. Chillicothe is now 2-5 on the young season.
