Accidents : Separate Accidents Injure Three

Separate traffic accidents Thursday in Dekalb and Gentry counties injured 3 persons. Click to see original Image in a new window

The highway patrol said 84 year old Georgia Dteiner of Amity received serious injuries when she apparently fell asleep and her van went off of Highway 6 in Dekalb County, struck an embankment, then a tree, and overturned. She was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center at St. Joseph. The patrol said her car was demolished in the accident yesterday afternoon 5 miles west of Maysville.

A King City man, 50 year old Donald Combe, received moderate injuries in an accident yesterday afternoon 4 miles east of Stanberry. He was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Albany. The patrol said Combe was southbound on Route F when he apparently lost control of his dump truck and it overturned onto the driver's side coming to rest in a cornfield. There was extensive damage to the truck.

A St. Louis resident, 29 year old Shawn Johnson, received minor injuries in an two vehicle accident yesterday afternoon 4 miles west of Albany. Johnson was taken to the hospital in Albany. The patrol said 46 year old Stacy Raymond of Stanberry apparently wasn't hurt. The patrol said Johnson' truck was turning from U.S. 69, to go east on U.S. 136, when it pulled into the path of Ms. Raymond's westbound vehicle. Raymond's vehicle was demolished while Johnson's sustained moderate damage.
