Single vehicle rollover accidents on Labor Day occurred east of Bethany and at Cameron.
In Harrison county, the highway patrol said a Princeton woman, 54 year old Beth Gilbert, received moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Harrison county community hospital at Bethany.
The patrol said Ms. Gilbert was riding in a pickup driven by 27 year old Adam Clark of St. Joseph. The accident occurred with Clark westbound on U-S 136 approaching a line of slower moving vehicles when he allegedly over-corrected and the truck began to skid.
It went off the north side of 136 and overturned onto its top. The truck received extensive damage in the accident late Monday morning that occurred three miles east of Bethany. Neither occupant was listed as wearing a safety device.
An Iowa man, 72 year old Charles Buerckley of St. Anthony, escaped with what the highway patrol listed as a minor injury when his northbound car went off the east side of Interstate 35; the driver over corrected with the car returning to the road and going into the median where it overturned three times coming to rest upright. The patrol said Buerckley was trapped inside the vehicle.
Once removed, he was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. His car was demolished in the wreck yesterday afternoon. He was wearing a seat belt.
