The final score, on a hot night at Johnson Field with game-time temperature at 97 degrees, was 7-2 over the visiting Gallatin Lady Bulldogs.

Gallatin opened the scoring in the top of the third inning, with a Bailey Maxwell two-out single scoring Kaitlyn McNeely.

Trenton had opportunities to score early, but left runners on second and third in the first inning, and had a similar, two-on, two-out chance in the third inning with sophomore Ally Ockenfels coming to the plate, and Tom Johnson on the play-by-play:

Trenton loaded the bases against a tiring Gallatin right-hander Sara Lin in the bottom of the fifth inning, and a wild pitch scored Makaila Capeder to push the lead to 3-1. With Ockenfels back at the plate, a daring base-running move by Madi Trump paid off for THS:

A Daryian Otto single scored Megan Lynch to push the lead to 5-1 Trenton, with Lexi Tolson, pinch-hitting, driving in Otto with a single, upping the advantage to 6-1.

Gallatin had a brief rally against Trenton starter Mallory Hooyman in the top of the sixth inning, scoring a run on a Kirbie Crouse single that plated Aubrey Nelson, but a brilliant double-play turned by Trenton ended the frame:

Trenton padded the lead with a run in the sixth, as McKinley Hurley singled and moved to second on a fielding error, was bunted to third, and scored on a Trump sacrifice fly.

Trenton starter Mallory Hooyman scattered seven Gallatin hits to earn the pitching win, strking out five and walking only two. Head Coach John Cowling was very appreciative of a large crowd that helped spur his team throughout the contest:
