A photograph submitted by Marcy Donelson of Princeton has been judged the best of show in a contest hosted by the Missouri Department Of Agriculture.
The photo, called feeding the baby, features an inquisitive young boy learning how to bottle feed a newborn calf. It was chosen best of show from 712 photos submitted by amateur photographers statewide.
The focus on Missouri agriculture photo contest had five categories. Among them, Laurie Link of Meadville placed first in the category called beauty of the farm. She also received honorable mention in the division called farmers life.
Kenzee Gladbach of Marcelline received honorable mention in the children's barnyard category.
The top 20 photos are being displayed in the agriculture building at the state fair in Sedalia. They also can be seen on line at the Missouri Department Of Agriculture's website, mda.mo.gov.
Three judges selected the top 20 photos. The judges are U-S-D-A farm service agency public affairs and outreach specialist Dana Rogge, Missouri Division Of Tourism communications manager Stephen Foutes, and M-F-A Incorporated photojournalist Austin Black.
