The local organization, Main Street Chillicothe, accepted the awards for best economic restructuring project for its “black and red Friday”; the Heritage Travel award for mural tours; and best facade renovation under ten thousand dollars that went to the “Healthy Living Store.” That business has been in downtown Chillicothe for several years.

Chillicothe also had semi finalists in Brandy Sensenich for Volunteer of the year and for the collaborative flower pot program in the category called outstanding community partnership. Chillicothe was recognized for a state and nationally accredited Main Street program. Crystal Narr of the Chillicothe group was recognized for her six years of service with the local program. Five other persons represented Chillicothe at the conference in Kansas City.

That conference attracted entries from across the state as each was recognized for achievements in downtown revitalization in 18 categories.
