In a recent press release:

A recent domestic assault investigation has taken a turn as the Detective handling the case has received a confession from the person reporting to initially be the victim. That person has allegedly confessed to making a false report to the sheriff's office. We have notified the prosecuting attorneys office and asked that charges be dismissed on the current defendant and considered for making a false report.

July 12th we began an investigation of stealing from a location on Liv 407 near Mooresville where the victim reported the theft of a Stihl MS210 Chainsaw, a container of Dye Tools, MAC tool box with assorted tools, and 2 other chainsaws.

A recent assault was investigated in the Wheeling area. The investigation shows a 3rd party called 911 and we learned a mother was allegedly assaulted by her daughter. The suspect had left the area prior to our arrival. The reported victim was not seeking prosecution on her daughter. We have since interviewed the reported suspect and the information has been submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review and direction.

We have actively been continuing an assault investigation from earlier this month near Dawn. We have interviewed several people and have made repeated attempts to speak with a person of interest. The case file is being delivered to Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of criminal charge(s).

Arrests:

July 13 we assisted the MSHP with serving a Lafayette County arrest warrant on Mayom Musa Abdalla, 38, Wyoming Michigan for alleged DOT violation. Mr. Abdalla posted bond and was released.

July 14 we assisted the MSHP on an arrest of William Victor Martins, 48, Chillicothe, on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class C felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Martins was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $5000 bond.

On July 16 a deputy responded to a call of a C & I driver on U.S. 65 north of Chillicothe. The subsequent traffic stop led to the arrest of William Mortimer Carroll, 61, KCMO for alleged Driving While Intoxicated under Drugs. Mr. Carroll was later incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond.

July 18 we extradited Michael M. Behnke, 23, from the Greene County Sheriff on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on convictions of 2 counts of Drug Distribution/Delivery or Intent.
