KCP&L has filed a request with the Missouri public Service Commission to increase it's fuel adjustment charge on electric bills.

If approved by the Public Service Commission, the typical KCP&L residential customer electric bill in this area would increase about seventy eight cents per month.

The adjustment is sought to reflect fuel and purchased power costs for the six month period ending in May.

Persons wishing to intervene or participate in the case should contact the Missouri Public Service Commission no later than July 30th. Citizens wishing to comment should contact the office of public counsel or the Public Service Commission, both in Jefferson City.

While the typical residential KCP&L electric customer in this area would experience an increase by about seventy eight cents a month, the cost for KCP&L customers in the St. Joseph area would go up about one dollar and twenty nine cents a month if the change is approved in the fuel adjustment clause.
