The building size is 60 by 100 feet. A decision on whether to construct the building is expected to depend on the cost. The district is considering using existing capital projects funds to pay for it.

The assessed valuation in the North Mercer School District has declined by 172-thousand dollars. The new assessed valuation is slightly over 13 point two million dollars. A public hearing on the proposed tax levy for the north mercer district is the evening of august 12th at 5:45. That's 15 minutes before the regular monthly board of education meeting.

The North Mercer Board employed Patty Stark as a 21st century grant project coordinator, and hired Erin Nall, Ginny Niemeyer, Ashley fuller, and Kay Wyatt as paraprofessionals in the upcoming school year. Each of them was employed by North Mercer last school year. Each receives a three percent pay increase.

The North Mercer Board approved Durham bus company to continue providing transportation for three years. The method of charges is changing. The cost in the first year will be 167 dollars a day for regular routes, and activity route fees of 46 cents a mile along with 13 dollars and 71 cents an hour for the driver. Those rates increase two percent in the second and third years of the contract.
