Trenton American Legion Blue Jays double-A baseball team won 2 out of 3 games this past weekend in Sedalia.

Trenton won their opening game Saturday by a narrow 10 to 9 score over Blue Springs Elks.

Jared Brundage was the winning pitcher for Trenton. The game was 8 to 7 Blue Springs leading after 4 innings with Trenton scoring three more times in the 6th and Blue Springs got one.

In their second game Saturday, Sedalia defeated Trenton 6 to nothing with the Blue Jays only collecting four hits off Sedalia pitching.

In the third game of the weekend, played on Sunday, Trenton defeated the Independence Indians by a final score of 3 to 1. Wyatt Thomas was the winning pitcher for Trenton.

All four teams in pool play won 2 and lost 1 game in the wood bat tournament. Those games were limited in length to seven innings OR a two hour time limit. Both the double-A and triple A Blue Jays baseball teams see action Tuesday Night (July 2nd) starting at 6 o’clock at home, at the Burleigh Grimes ball field in Trenton. The opponent for both baseball games is Lawson.

Trenton’s double-A baseball team will be taking on a Chillicothe team in district baseball games, best two out of three next week. The first game is at Burleigh Grimes field in Trenton Tuesday July 9th at 7 o’clock. The second game is to be played in Chillicothe on Thursday July 11th also at 7 o’clock. The third game, if necessary, would be played Saturday July 13th.
