Accidents : 14 Year Old Gilman City Resident Injured In Accident

A Gilman City resident was injured when a pickup truck hit a bridge guard and embankment Southwest of Eagleville.

The Highway patrol indicated fourteen year old Kyla Haymell of Gilman City was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital at Bethany, then, transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital At Kansas City with moderate injuries.

Ms. Haymell was a passenger in a pickup driven by fifteen year old Hunter Langfitt of New Hampton. He was not reported hurt. Two other passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The accident occurred four miles Southwest of Eagleville on West 200th street. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, striking a bridge guard, and embankment. Damage was listed as extensive to the vehicle.

None of the occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
