Brian J. Adkison faces a felony charge of kidnapping related to the disappearance Saturday of the 23-year-old woman. He also faces a variety of other charges.

Adkison, whose residence was last listed as Columbia, Mo., was the woman’s ex-boyfriend and she had previously obtained an order of protection against him.

He was last seen wearing a white Fox Racing T-shirt, plaid shorts and flip-flops. He was driving a white four-door Chevrolet truck with a chrome grill, chrome bumper and running boards.

Sgt. Paul J. Reinsch with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F said the vehicle Mr. Adkison was reportedly driving was spotted along Missouri Highway 5, near Sunset Beach, Mo., on Monday afternoon. He added that the truck was stolen Sunday from Blue Springs, Mo., before it was spotted near the Lake of the Ozarks.

“We have no idea why he picked the Lake of the Ozarks area,” Mr. Reinsch said. “Reports of him have also come from sightings on the lake on personal watercraft vehicles, too.”

Mr. Reinsch said several personal watercraft were reported stolen Sunday and Monday, although law enforcement have not been able to tie Mr. Adkison to those thefts. In August, Mr. Adkison was arrested on a case involving a stolen vehicle from a Kansas City casino, court documents stated. He also faces a charge of rape in Boone County, according to court records.

Authorities are asking anyone who may know the whereabouts of Adkison to contact authorities. Adkison is considered armed and dangerous.
