It's been a busy week for the Chillicothe Police Department. Officers were dispatched to a variety of calls. Read More to see the details.

Chillicothe Police officers assisted the Putnam County Juvenile Office with an alleged child molestation case that was reported to have taken place in 2007. The incident remains under investigation.

Officers took a report in reference to the theft of scrap metal from a business in the 300 block of Second Street. The victim reported having several pounds of aluminum cans stolen from the business.

Chillicothe Police officers received information that a firearm stolen from Minnesota was pawned at a local pawn shop. The firearm was located and is being held pending further investigation.

Officers were called to the 1400 block Alexander Street for the report of an unattended eight-year-old child. It was later discovered that the child had snuck out of her residence without the caretaker's knowledge. No charges are being sought at this time.

Chillicothe Police officers arrested Veril Johnson in the 400 block of Wise Street on a Livingston County warrant for trespassing and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Dorney Drive for the report of an assault. It was discovered that a female care giver was assaulted by a client at the residence. No arrests were made.

Chillicothe Police officers arrested Jolene Thompson in the 600 block of Walnut Street on a Livingston County warrant for the original charge of stealing.

Officers investigated the report of an assault on a juvenile in the 1500 block of Dorney Drive. The juvenile was reported to have been assaulted by another juvenile. The incident remains under investigation.

Chillicothe Police officers recovered a purple Roadmaster bicycle near the intersection of Green Street and William Street.

The Chillicothe Police Department answered 80 calls for service.
