The highway patrol is reporting three separate accidents from Monday morning that injured drivers of motor vehicles in Macon, Ray, and Gentry counties. There also was a single vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Clinton County.
Thirty three year old Michael Shively of Princeton was northbound on Highway 3 in Macon county when he swerved to miss a deer. His minivan received minor damage when it went off the road where it struck a fence six miles northwest of LaPlata. Shively received minor injuries and was taken to the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
31 year old Jessica Simpler of Braymer was driving a van that traveled off Ray county Route B and struck the ditch. She received moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital.
The van received moderate damage.
A mile west of Albany, 23 year old Wesley Carver of New Hampton was eastbound when his car traveled off Highway 136, re-entered the road, rolled and slid a short distance coming to a stop on the driver's side. Carver was seriously injured and taken to Northwest Medical Center of Albany. The car was demolished.
At a location four miles south of Plattsburg, 34 year old Gina Smith of Plattsburg received
minor injuries when her car traveled off Route C; over-corrected and overturned coming to rest
on its side. The driver refused medical treatment at the scene. Her car was demolished in the Monday afternoon accident.
