Residents of St. Joseph and Jamesport were injured yesterday afternoon when a sports utility vehicle overturned on Highway 190, just south of Jamesport.

The highway patrol described injuries as serious for 17 year old Skyler Lane of St. Joseph. He was flown by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center.
A passenger, 19 year old Paiten Hamilton of Jamesport, received minor injuries but according to the patrol, declined treatment at the scene.
The investigator said the S-U-V was southbound at high speed when Lane apparently engaged the emergency brake as the vehicle entered a curve. The S-U-V began to slid out of control, went off the west side of 190, returned to the road, before traveling off it again where it overturned, impacted the ground, and came to rest upright. The vehicle was demolished. Ms. Hamilton was wearing a seat belt while Lane was not.

A teenager from Kingston received what the highway patrol called serious injuries in an accident at Kingston yesterday afternoon. 18 year old Cody Carr was flown by medical helicopter to the Truman Medical Center of Kansas City. The accident involved a truck sitting in the driveway of a residence. The patrol said the transmission came out of gear and the truck began rolling backwards. Officers said Carr attempted to stop it but the vehicle rolled over the top of him. (no damage to the truck)
