Sports : NCMC men sign St. Louis area point guard

The North Central Missouri College men’s basketball team has announced the signing of St. Louis area student/athlete Jory Woodson. Woodson signed a letter of intent at NCMC on April 10th.

The son of Jermar and Medina Woodson, Jory is a 5’11” point guard. He is a senior at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton where he averaged 19 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. His career high was 32 points in one game.

Athletic honors include Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore; First Team All Conference, All Metro, and All District as a junior; and Suburban South Conference Player of the Year, First Team All Conference, All Metro, All District, several All Tournament teams, and Missouri Sports Top 50 Performer as a senior. Jory’s other high school activities included the Captain’s Council, the International Club, the CCL Club, and the Best Program Pharmacy Institute. He was also a Reading Club Mentor and volunteered at the Work Recreation Center.

At NCMC, he plans to earn his Associate in Arts transfer degree with an emphasis in criminal justice or physical education.

Jory Woodson is the first announced new recruit for the 2013-14 Pirates basketball team.
