Sports : Trenton track teams enjoy successful Tuesday meets

The Trenton girls and boys varsity track teams won a meet at Brookfield, with the Trenton Middle School sweeping championship honors at the TMS Quad, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Trenton boys amassed 201 points to beat host Brookfield, Milan, and Meadville.

First place individual finishes for THS came from Aric Helmendollar in the 110 and 300 hurdles; Charlie Hoffman in the 1600 meters; Seth Acton in the 400 and 800 meters; Trent Crawford in the 3200 meters; Wyatt Coffman in the discus; Laramy Raymo in the shot put; Hunter Treadwell in the high jump; Sam Cool in the long jump; Dakota Schultz in the triple jump; and Wynne DeVorss in the pole vault.

Trenton's boys swept the relay races. Teams were made up of (Cool, Kurtz, Houghton, Acton - 4 by 100), (Helmendollar, Kurtz, Houghton, Feagins - 4 by 200), (Cool, Houghton, Hoffman, Acton - 4 by 400), and (DeVorss, Mack, Crawford, Hoffman - 4 by 800).

The Trenton girls picked up 158 points in the win at Brookfield. Senior Chandler Wilson had a superb day, winning the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 400 meter races, and the triple jump. Other individual champions for THS were Alexis Fender in the 300 hurdles, Maddie Hooyman and Karley McCollum tying at 5 feet even in the high jump, and Ally Ockenfels in the shot put.

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs swept all four relay races. Winning teams were (Fender, Hurley, Hurley, Hooyman in the 4 by 100), (Hurley, Osborn, Hurley, and Hooyman in the 4 by 200), (Hurley, Hooyman, Hurley, and Osborn in the 4 by 400), and (Osborn, Westcott, Boyle, and Guile in the 4 by 800).

The TMS boys won the TMS Quad with 157 points, followed by 139 from Hamilton, and 137 from South Harrison.

Triple Jump: Jaran Richman, Hamilton
Discus: Wyatt Starmer, South Harrison

100 Meter Hurdles: TJ Williams, South Harrison
100 Meter Dash: Stanton Blake, South Harrison
4 by 200 Relay: Trenton (Burkeybile, Johnson, Guile, Harris)
1600 Meters: Ellis Gilham, Trenton
4 by 100 Relay: South Harrison (Blake, McLain, Williams, Davidson)
400 Meters: Derek Dixon, Hamilton
800 Meters: Jaran Richman, Hamilton
200 Meters: Derek Dixon, Hamilton
4 by 400 Relay: Hamilton (Melton, Ernat, Harper, Richman)

The TMS girls rolled to the team victory, picking up 273 points, well ahead of the 122.5 from runner-up Hamilton and 37.5 from third-place South Harrison.

4 by 100 Relay: Trenton (Roberts, Neff, Black, Raymo)
400 Meters: Kassie Moore, Hamilton
800 Meters: Karli Crawford, Trenton
200 Meters: Tenna Roberts, Trenton
4 by 400 Relay: Trenton (Richman, Hooyman, Woodside, Raymo)
