Two teenagers were injured in an accident on Sunday afternoon about five miles southeast of Stanberry. The Highway Patrol said the driver, 18-year old Bethany Ruoff of Savannah, received SERIOUS injuries and was taken my helicopter to an unspecified "city hospital". A passenger, 18-year old Shelby Schultz, suffered MODERATE injuries. She was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Albany.
The Highway Patrol said the girls' car was eastbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, over-corrected, and the car went off the north side of Gentry County Route E, where it struck an embankment. The car then overturned and came to rest upright. The car was demolished. The report indicated that Ms. Schultz was using a seat belt, but Ms. Ruoff was not. |
