A Cameron resident was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving overturned off a road near Cameron. Twenty-three year old Ian Jezak was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, then flown by medical helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. The Highway Patrol described his injuries as SERIOUS.
The accident was Saturday afternoon one mile north of Cameron on DeKalb County Route EE. The Patrol said the northbound pickup went off the right side of the road, crossed back to the left, and off the left side of the pavement. The truck then hit an embankment, overturned, and came to rest on its top, demolishing the vehicle. The patrol said Jezak was not wearing a seat belt. |
