A Chillicothe man, who has spent the past 18 years in custody (either prison or jail), could be released on bond this (Friday) afternoon. The Clinton County Circuit Clerk's office says Judge Owens Lee Hull has set bond for Mark Woodworth at $50,000 cash or surety.

Woodworth most recently has been in custody at the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg. Once bond is posted, Woodworth WOULD be released through the Livingston County Sheriff's Department where the cases where originally filed. The second trial was held in Clinton County Circuit Court, after they were given jurisdiction on a change of venue from Livingston County.

The Missouri Supreme Court, last month, threw out convictions for murder and armed criminal action. The Supreme Court returned the cases to the LOCAL circuit court and allowed that judge to determine whether any bond should be set. The Attorney General's office has said it plans to try Woodworth a third time on those charges as a result of the death of Cathy Robertson and the serious injuries suffered by Lyndall Robertson at their farmhouse near Chillicothe in 1990.
