News : THS students compete in statewide contests

Trenton FFA member Sheridan Jamvold competed yesterday at the state finals of the Missouri Pork Producers pork speaking contest held in Columbia. Sheridan was one of six students competing. The theme for the contest was “Opportunities in the Pork Industry”.

Sheridan Jamvold received a plaque as the Northwest district winner and a state participant.

Several Trenton FFA members competed in the Area TWO proficiency selection last night.

Three Trenton FFA members placed first in their Supervised Agricultural Experience proficiency areas. Shelby Chaney took top honors in the Veterinary Science proficiency; Jessica Roy was first in Wildlife Management; and Breilly Roy placed first in the Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management proficiency area. Among other results, Shelby Chaney placed second in Agricultural Education.

All first place proficiencies advance to state competition in April.

Other Trenton FFA members competing include: Alex Lovell, Ag Mechanics Design and Fabrication Placement; Magie Steinhoff, Ag Sales Placement; Alex Anderson, Ag Services; Malinda Foster, Beef Production entrepreneurship; Shelby Lowrey, Diversified Ag production; Shania Anderson, Diversified Livestock; Bailey Owen, Equine Science Etrepreneurship; Rebecca Tate, Home and/or Community Development; Kate Lowrey, Outdoor Recreation; and Aaron Herring, Turf Grass Management.
