The Trenton R-9 Board of Education has selected its next principal for Trenton Middle School. At a special meeting last (Thursday) night, the board employed Dustin Jenkerson for the position, starting in the 2013-14 school year.

Jenkerson is in his first year of employment at Trenton R-9 where he currently is The ASSISTANT principal.

A school spokesman said the salary is to be determined at the next Board of education meeting. Trenton Middle School Principal Jamie Oram will be retiring at the end of her contract this summer. Jenkerson and his family moved to Trenton in July. His prior experience has
been as a teacher. Jenkerson said he taught sixth grade social studies for eight years
in the Park Hills R-3 school district. He also has coached basketball and track for the past nine years on the middle and high school levels.

Jenkerson, in a written statement, says he feels he has gained experience from the R-9 administrative team, and from the leadership of Principal Oram. Jenkerson credits some new programs for helping improve student attendance;
the way discipline is handled and after school tutoring for students who need help. He recognized support from faculty and staff. Jenkerson, in thanking the school superintendent and R-9 board of education, stated he appreciates the opportunity to be the next TMS principal.
