KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Faulkner's 40 leads PHS Tigers to season's 2nd win

Princeton sophomore Brant Faulkner led the Tigers with a dominant 40 point outing, as Princeton picked up its second victory of the season, downing Cainsville 69-43 in a South Harrison Tournament boy's consolation semifinal on Wednesday night in Bethany.

The win improves Princeton's season record to 2-10, and moves the Tigers into Friday night's consolation final against the North Harrison Shamrocks, a 61-51 winner against Northeast Nodaway. Justin Hamilton, in the Wednesday night win, had 10 points for Princeton. The consolation final will tip at 8:30 on Friday night.

In girl's consolation semifinal play from Bethany on Wednesday night, the Northeast Nodaway Lady Jays downed Ridgeway by a score of 38-20, while the North Harrison Lady Shamrocks beat Cainsville 47-41. Northeast Nodaway plays North Harrison for the girl's consolation hardware on Friday night at 7:10. In the seventh place games on Friday, the Ridgeway girls play Cainsville at 4:30, with the Cainsville boys playing Northeast Nodaway at 5:50.

The SEMIFINALS from the South Harrison Tournament are tonight (Thursday night), with the South Harrison Lady Bulldogs hosting Putnam County at 4:30, and the South Harrison boys taking on Ridgeway at 5:50. The two games that follow will both be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3, www.kttn.com, and 'Internet TV', with the Trenton Lady Bulldogs putting an 12-1 record on the line against Princeton at 7:10, and the 9-4 Trenton boys taking on a talented, #2 seeded Putnam County Midgets team at 8:30. Tonight's winners advance to Saturday night's championship games in Bethany.
