The Trenton girls and boys basketball team each advanced into the South Harrison Basketball Tournament semifinals, with Monday evening victories in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Bethany.

The Lady Bulldogs of THS moved to 11-1 on the season, with a 69-10 beating of Ridgeway. Meanwhile, the Princeton Lady Tigers downed Northeast Nodaway by a final score of 60-32, setting up a second meeting of the season between Trenton and Princeton, this one set in the semifinals on Thursday night, on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com's 'Internet TV'.

The Trenton boys rolled past Northeast Nodaway by a final score of 83-51, with Colby Larson scoring 18 points, Austin Taul 15, Chase Tolson 13, and Wilson Utley 11 for the now 9-4 Bulldogs, who will play the Putnam County/North Harrison winner in Thursday night's boys semifinal at 8:30, also to be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and 'Internet TV'. The Midgets and Shamrocks meet in a boy's quarterfinal on Tuesday afternoon at 5:50 in Bethany.

On Monday night, the Ridgeway Owls beat the Princeton Tigers for the second time within the past two weeks, this time by a final score of 61-37. The loss drops Princeton's record to 1-9 on the season, despite 17 points in the contest from sophomore Brant Faulkner. For the well-balanced Owls, Joe Longo had 20 points, Ben Rinehart 18, and Dakota Hale 13. Ridgeway advances to a 5:50 semifinal game on Thursday afternoon, likely against the top-seeded South Harrison Bulldogs, who entertain Cainsville on Tuesday night at 8:30 in the quarterfinal round. Princeton drops into a 5:50 consolation semifinal on Wednesday afternoon, against the South Harrison/Cainsville loser.

Tuesday night brings a Putnam County/North Harrison doubleheader, followed by a South Harrison/Cainsville doubleheader to the South Harrison gymnasium. The Midgets/Shamrocks girls game is at 4:30, and boy's game at 5:50. The Bulldogs and Redettes play at 7:10, with the boy's teams at 8:30.
