Maysville High School guard Skyler Zimmerman banked in a three point shot at the fourth quarter buzzer on Friday night, giving the visiting Wolverines a 60-59 victory over the Princeton Tigers, in the back-end of a Grand River Conference doubleheader broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3.

Princeton led by nine points at the end of three quarters, but was unable to hold that advantage in falling to 1-8 on the season, and 0-2 in conference play. Brant Faulkner led the Tigers with 29 points with Drew Cox adding 10. Dakota Peterson led Maysville with 25 points with Zimmerman scoring 10.

The girls game went the way of the #5 ranked team in the state in the MBCA Class Two poll, as Maysville used a strong second-quarter surge to build a double-digit lead, and cruised home in the second half to a 73-55 road win at Princeton. Torri Blythe scored 18 points to lead the now 9-2 Lady Wolverines, with Taylor Hale adding 16. For Princeton, now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the GRC, senior guard Nancy Berwanger had 20 points with Paige Phillips contributing 13.

From the Marceline Hoops Tournament on Friday night, the Milan girls and boys each tasted victory, leaving the Wildcat boys with the consolation championship, and the Lady 'Cats with the third place hardware. In games broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com, the Milan boys beat Keytesville by a score of 53-43. Sophomore guard Holden Stallbaumer led Milan with 20 points, while Russell Shaw had 20 points and Skylar Hanes 10 for the Tigers.

The Lady 'Cats beat Bucklin/Macon County by a score of 56-46, with Hannah Sanders scoring 19 points and Andra Sylvester 13 for Milan. For the Lady Raiders, Savannah Hokun had 15 points.
