News : Missouri Highway Patrol announces first of the year promotions

The Missouri Highway Patrol's zone comprised of Putnam and Sullivan Counties has a new commander as of January 1st. Corporal Eldon Grissom has been promoted to sergeant, after spending the last 23 years with the patrol.

Grissom had been Assistant Zone Commander in Adair and Schuyler Counties. The Kirksville native has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Truman State University. He and his wife Mindy have three children.

Trooper Eric Brown was promoted to corporal and designated the Assistant Zone Commander for Adair and Schuyler Counties. Brown was appointed to the patrol in 2004. The Huntsville native is a graduate of Westran High School. Before being hired by the patrol, he attended Moberly Area Community College and served as Randolph County Deputy Sheriff. He and his wife Annavee have three children.

Trooper Terry 'T.J' Adams was promoted to corporal and will remain in his present assignment as the Troop B Canine officer, a position he has held since September 2011. Adams has hired by the patrol in 2002. The Monroe City native attended Moberly Area Community College and Hannibal-LaGrange College. Before being appointed to the patrol he served with the Monroe City Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. He and his wife Mandy have two children.
