Oral historian Jim "Two Crows" Wallen will tell stories of people who died during the Civil War when Wallen presents a program on Tuesday, January 8th in Chillicothe. The presentation will be made during the quarterly meeting of the Grand River Historical Society at the Elks Club. The meeting begins with a pork loin dinner at 6:30. The cost of the meal is $7.00. The activities are open to the public.
Wallen will focus on the people, rather than the military or political actions. He will tell stories of the "Prelude to War", "Children, Women, Cultures, Soldiers", and "The Border War". He will be in costume as Chaplain William Maple (his great-grandfather), who was with the 49th Indiana Infantry.
The Grand River Historical Society says Jim "Two Crows" Wallen has been sharing stories for 25 years, averaging over 300 performances per year on three different continents.
