Flames and Fires : Breckenridge houses damaged in Monday morning fire
Posted by Tom on 2013/1/2 8:47:36 (191 reads) News by the same author

Two nearby houses in Breckenridge were damaged in an early morning fire on Monday. The Chillicothe Fire Department, on a mutual aid request, assisted Breckenridge firefighters at the scene of the fires at 7th and Wisconsin before daybreak on New Year's Eve.

One structure was said to be 'fully engulfed in flames', with the fire at the rear of the house (on its south side) spreading up a wall and into the roof and attic areas. There was 'a lot' of water damage reported, in addition to fire damage, in the upstairs portion of the second house. Names of the owners and/or occupants were not available in Monday morning's report.

On Sunday morning, Chillicothe firefighters responded to a report of 'smoke from a heater on the roof' of the Park Center Shopping Plaza at 400 Park Lane. The report said the aerial platform truck was used to place two firefighters on the roof. A fire extinguisher was used to put out the blaze. Damage was confined to a motor of the heater. The portion of the shopping center (beneath that heater) was vacant, and no fire damage was noted inside the building itself.
