Automobile Accidents : Saturday night accident injures Norborne teen

The Highway Patrol says a Norborne resident was hurt early Saturday night in southwestern Carroll County after failing to yield. Sixteen-year old Cody Wiesz of Norborne was taken to Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, with what the Highway Patrol described as MODERATE injuries.

The accident was on Carroll County Route JJ at County Road 290. The investigating officer said an eastbound car driven by Wiesz failed to yield to a southbound SUV operated by 16-year old Charles Greggs of Hardin. The Patrol said the car hit the side of the SUV, causing extensive damage to the car and moderate damage to the SUV.

The Patrol said Greggs was not hurt. A passenger in the car (15-year old Steven Moore of Norborne) also was not reported hurt. The Patrol said Charles Greggs was the only person wearing a seat belt.
