The Milan girls and boys basketball teams traveled to Edina on Tuesday night to battle the Knox County Eagles in a Tri-Rivers Conference doubleheader, with the Wildcats coming home with a pair of losses, 62-43 in the girls contest, and 58-17 in the boys game, to drop to 1-2 in conference play. Tuesday's games were broadcast LIVE on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com, and seen on 'Internet TV' from www.kttn.com.

In the girls game, Milan's backcourt depth suffered a hit before the game, with junior guard Kyley Doak unavailable due to illness. Less than four minutes into the first quarter, starting point guard Hannah Sanders picked up her third foul, relegating her to the bench until the third quarter. The Lady 'Cats offense struggled to only 11 first half points, and could not catch up in the second half, falling by 19.

Upon her return to the floor over the last two quarters, Sanders was spectacular for Milan, scoring 22 points (she did not score in the first half). Senior center Andra Sylvester added 14 points for Milan. For Knox County, Hannah Strange led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points, while Lauren Dale added 15.

Milan struggled with turnovers and lack of offense throughout the boy's game, falling to Knox County by a score of 58-17, as the Eagles had 19 points from Royce Poore and 12 from Lee Tague. Milan did not have a double figures scorer.

The Lady 'Cats season record is now 3-3 (1-2 in the TRC), while the Wildcat boys are 2-4 (1-2 in the TRC). Milan will return to action on Thursday night, hosting the rival Green City Gophers in 6:00 and 7:30 games from the Milan High School gymnasium. Both of those games will be broadcast LIVE on KTTN FM 92.3.
