The Highway Patrol says two Stewartsville residents were SERIOUSLY injured when a car overturned off Highway 36 west of Cameron early on Saturday night. The driver, 24-year old Kacy Teeter, and a passenger, 26-year old Jacob Bennett, both of Stewartsville, were taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

The accident scene was nearly two miles west of Cameron on U.S. Highway 36. The Patrol said the eastbound car swerved off the right side of the road for an unknown reason, hit a ditch, rolled twice, went through a fence, and came to rest on its wheels in a farm field. The car was demolished. The Patrol said neither person was wearing a seat belt.
