The Trenton girls and South Harrison boys basketball teams claimed victories on Friday night, in a high school basketball doubleheader broadcast LIVE on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com. The Trenton girls moved to 6-0 with a 69-39 win, while the South Harrison boys beat Trenton 78-58.

The Trenton girls smoked South Harrison early, jumping out to a 28 point halftime advantage. South Harrison made a move on Trenton in the third quarter, but was only able to cut the lead to 24, and the host school breezed to the win in the fourth. Mikaila Capeder led Trenton with 22 points, with Scotlin Hurley and Avery Whitaker both scoring 12. Kaylee Smith had 16 for South Harrison, who falls to 2-3 on the season.

Trenton found no answers in the boy's game for South Harrison junior forward Dylan Heitz, who blitzed THS for 35 points (27 in the first half) in the 20 point win for the 'Purple Bulldogs'. Kaid Hendren added 18 points in the victory. Trenton, in falling to 4-2 on the season, picked up 22 points from Chase Tolson and 11 from Austin Taul.

Trenton is next in action on Tuesday night, playing AT Carrollton High School against the host Trojans.

The Hamilton girls beat Lawson in overtime in Friday night's KCI Conference Tournament's championship game, while the East Buchanan Bulldogs beat Mid-Buchanan in the boy's third place game 61-44. West Platte beat Lawson for the boy's championship 68-40.
