KTTN/KGOZ Sports : Trenton Bulldogs sweep Princeton

The Trenton Bulldogs swept a basketball doubleheader on Tuesday night against the Princeton Tigers, controlling both games throughout and getting 'running clock's' by the fourth quarter, with the Trenton girls cruising to a 73-21 win, with the boys taking a 66-29 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 5-0, thanks to a 16 point effort from Avery Whitaker, to go with 14 points from Makaila Capeder. Princeton's leading scorer was Fallon Priest with seven points. The Lady Tigers are on a three-game losing skid going into Thursday night's home game with state-ranked North Mercer.

The Trenton boys had 11 players score, led by 14 points from Chris Kurtz and 10 from Hunter Treadwell, in improving to 4-1 on the season. Princeton, in falling to 1-3, was led by a game high 21 points from sophomore Brant Faulkner.

Thursday night's Mercer at Princeton doubleheader will be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com. On Friday night, Trenton hosts South Harrison High School in a varsity doubleheader scheduled for broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.

Pattonsburg won girl's and boy's games against Tri-County. Scores are not known at this time. The Newtown-Harris girls lost by two points at Seymour, Iowa (score unknown). The Newtown-Harris boys won by a large margin (over 30 points) against Seymour, Iowa.
