The Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair Association, a non profit that supports and enhances educational activities for youth of Livingston County has received a donation of $5,000 from Chula Farmers’ Cooperative and CoBank as part of the bank’s “Sharing Success” program.

The donation will be used to fund educational programs, including 4-H and FFA, which helps mold future leaders by teaching them the decision making, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills they can use in all phases of their lives.

The contribution is part of CoBank’s “Sharing Success” program, a $3 million matching grant program designed to benefit cooperatives and charitable groups they support throughout rural America. Coinciding with the United Nations’ “International Year of Cooperatives,” CoBank will match contributions by its cooperative customers to nonprofit organizations of their choice for the remainder of 2012, or until the fund is exhausted. The gifts will be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis, from a minimum of $1000 up to a maximum of $5000.

Chula Farmers’ Cooperative is a full service, cost efficient Co-op that leads the field in providing safe supplies and services to the environment and people while managing equity and identity to the best interest of its members. The Chula Farmers’ Cooperative has been a strong supporter and bidder at the Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair for many years.

CoBank is a $90 billion cooperative bank serving vital industries across rural America. The bank provides loans, leases, export financing and other financial service to agribusinesses and rural power, water and communications providers in all 50 states.

CoBank is a member of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of banks and retail lending associations chartered to support the borrowing needs of U.S. agriculture and the nation’s rural economy. In addition to serving its direct retail borrowers, the bank also provides wholesale loans and other financial services to affiliated Farm Credit associations serving more than 70,000 farmers, ranchers and other rural borrowers in 23 states around the country.
