A Carrollton resident was hurt when the Highway Patrol says the car she was driving went off a road north of Chillicothe, after she skidded to avoid a deer. Sixteen year old Makayla Moritz was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe with injuries described as minor.
The accident was Saturday night one mile north of Chillicothe on LIV 237. The Patrol said the southbound car traveled off the right side of the road, went partially down a steep 50 foot drainage ditch embankment, overturned onto the passenger side of the vehicle, and hit a tree 15 feet down the embankment, where it came to rest. The car was extensively damaged. The Patrol said Ms. Moritz was not wearing a seat belt.
