A presentation is scheduled for Friday morning at the Pleasant View R-6 School southeast of Trenton, as it has been selected as a winner in "America's Farmers Grow Rural Education". The program allows for public school districts to apply to Monsanto for a merit-based grant to enhance math and science education.
After a three-tier grant review process, Pleasant View R-6 was selected as one of 11 winners from across Missouri. Administrator Tiffany Otto said that she wrote the grant application with input from the faculty. Proceeds from the $10,000 grant will be used toward Smart-Board technology including advanced software and some hardware components.
The check presentation is scheduled at 8 o'clock Friday morning during a school assembly at Pleasant View R-6.
