Sports : Hamilton and Gallatin roll into Halloween showdown (plus Thursday night FB scoreboard)

The Hamilton Hornets and Gallatin Bulldogs easily rolled through district quarterfinal tests on Thursday night, advancing to a meeting against one another on Halloween Night (next Wednesday) at Penney High School.

Behind a 33 carry, 177 yard rushing night from Isaac Mathis, Gallatin beat East Buchanan by a final score of 27-6. The Bulldog offense scored four touchdowns on the night (two by Mattis), while the defense registered a first quarter safety.

Hamilton scored early and often in a 60-22 win over Albany, moving the #1 seeded Hornets to 10-0 on the season.

Elsewhere in Class 1, District 8, #2 seed South Harrison routed King City by a score of 50-0, while #3 Polo beat Maysville 42-8 behind three touchdowns and 249 yards rushing from Zach Freeman.

Polo will play at South Harrison on Wednesday night in the Class 1, District 8 semifinal round at 7:00.
