The Trenton High School senior doubles duo of Jaci Tracy and Jessica Tracy began Class 1 state tournament play on Friday morning with a convincing win, only to see the Lady Bulldogs nemesis from Barstow High School waiting in the state quarterfinals.

Jaci and Jessica, in the sectional round, rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Carly Hopkins and Reagan Kapp of Notre Dame Cape Girardeau.

In the quarterfinals, Trenton's Tracy's ran into a tennis buzzsaw by the names of Lauren Estes and Madeline Tadros of Barstow (the same team that beat the Lady Bulldogs last Monday in the team state quarterfinals). Estes and Tadros beat Tracy and Tracy, 6-0, 6-0.

On Friday afternoon, after being bumped into the consolation side of the bracket, Jaci and Jessica's season ended in a tough three-set loss to Evans and Markes of Marshall High School 2-6, 6-2, 4-6.

Congratulations to Jaci Tracy and Jessica Tracy and the rest of the Trenton Lady Bulldog tennis team on a tremendous fall season!

In Class 1 SINGLES play at state, there was an all-Chillicothe fifth place match, won by Ali Stephens over Sydnie Whiteside, 6-1, 6-2.
