News : 16th annual marching band festival is part of 28th annual Missouri Day Festival at Trenton

From the beginning of the parade competition to the awards ceremony more than 12 hours later, the marching band festival Saturday promises to be a full day of activity for some 48 visiting high school bands plus Trenton High School.


The parade begins at 8:30; the auxiliary competition starts at 10 o'clock; the
field show performances begin at 11:30; and the drum fest or percussion starts at 2:50.
An awards ceremony at C-F Russell Stadium is scheduled for 9 o'clock Saturday night.
Trophies are to be given in each of the four classes. Recognition also goes in
each field show class for the best musical unit, best marching and maneuvering unit,
and the unit with the highest degree of general effect. Plaques are given to the best
drum major and best field auxiliary.
Each band has been assigned a password for their own use on the web site www.missouridaymarchingfestival.com Once the password is entered, the band directors will able to listen to and download audio files containing the judges comments.
Trenton high school band performs only in
exhibition. Trenton will be the lead band in the Saturday morning parade. It also will participate with the auxiliary competition,
the drum fest, and field show events.
The Trenton F-F-A chapter and high school vocal music department will sponsor concession stands at the T-H-S commons and at C-F Russell Stadium on Saturday.
