A car ran off a road in northeastern Chariton County on Saturday night, resulting in injuries for a young Higbee woman. Twenty-two year old Courtney Hayes was taken by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol.
The accident was three miles north of Wien on Highway 129. The investigating officer said the northbound car went off the road and came to rest on an embankment. The vehicle was demolished. The Patrol said Ms. Hayes was not wearing a seat belt. |
