The Trenton High School Lady Bulldog has found unprecedented team success over the past week, setting up THS for a Class 1 quarterfinal duel with Barstow High School today (Monday) at Winnetonka High School in Kansas City, with the winner advancing to the state semifinals and a meeting with Kennett on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in Springfield.

The week started out in spectacular fashion, with the doubles team of Jaci Tracy and Jessica Tracy advancing to state INDIVIDUAL tennis with a sectional victory over Sarah Lanning and Maggie Witherow of St. Pius X of Kansas City by scores of 6-2, 6-2.

Jaci and Jessica's state tennis experience will begin on Friday, October 19th in Springfield.

Trenton's TEAM was set to play in potential back-to-back matches on Saturday in Kansas City, but the rainy forecast pushed the Lady Bulldogs SECTIONAL match-up with St. Pius X to Friday.

Trenton reacted to the late change in plans like champions, blitzing the Warriors to the tune of five wins to zero.

Individual results from Friday were:

Trenton's Jaci Tracy over St. Pius X's Erica McDonald 6-4, 3-6, 6-4
Trenton's Jessica Tracy over St. Pius X's Grace Geiger 6-0, 6-2
Trenton's Maria Stevenson over St. Pius X's Emily Nissen 6-2, 5-7, 6-3
Trenton's Megan Derry over St. Pius X's Sarah Lanning 6-3, 6-3
Trenton's Megan Sole over St. Pius X's Elen Iberra 6-4, 6-1

The Lady Bulldogs were on the verge of another individual victory when the competition was halted after the clinching FIFTH win was achieved. Magie Steinhoff of THS was leading her match with Maggie Witherow of St. Pius 6-1, 4-1.

Congratulations to the Trenton High School girl's tennis team for their appearance in the Class 1 state QUARTERFINALS, and good luck today against Barstow!
