A Highway Patrol trooper's car struck a deer on Tuesday morning (October 9th) in eastern Sullivan County. The driver, 44-year old corporal Reid Fessler of Macon, escaped injury.

His car (a 2012 Dodge Charger) sustained an estimated $10,000 damage to its front end.

The accident, on Highway 129, occurred two miles south of Green City. The trooper was using his seat belt.
