The Trenton High School girl's golf team is one of eight Class 1 squads from across the state of Missouri competing in the state tournament today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday at the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.
The 38th annual event is on a Par 72, 5,455 yard course between Jefferson City and Fulton. The seven other schools (in addition to Trenton) taking part in the event are Mount Vernon, Richmond, Sacred Heart, Maryville, Moberly, Westminster Christian Academy, and Villa Duchesne. Trenton and Moberly finished one-two to advance out of sectionals last Monday at the Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe.
In sectional play, Trenton's winning score was 390, followed by Moberly at 397, Mexico at 404, and Brookfield at 407.
Chandler Wilson of THS was fourth-high individual last Monday with a score of 88, followed by Katie Lenhart at 94, Haley Purkapile at 98, Karley McCollum at 110, and Lauren Schmidt at 130.
State tournament tee times begin at 9 o'clock this (Monday) morning in New Bloomfield.
