A white-tail deer management workshop for landowners and property managers will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24th, at the University of Missouri Forage Systems Research Center, located at 21262 Genoa Road in Linneus.

Topics covered will include food plots and green browse to attract deer, the benefits of timber stand improvements, and using warm-season grass plantings for bedding and browse. Dinner will be provided.

Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) staff will demonstrate how to removed jawbones and incisors to determine the age of a deer. Diseases affecting deer will be discussed. Attendees are encouraged to bring their photos of deer to discuss estimating the age and antler scores for deer.

The event and dinner are free. To RSVP or for more information, contact Brent Vandeloecht at 660-258-5732, ext. 111.
